A warm welcome! The purpose of this website is to introduce you to our Probus Club and to give some idea of who we are and what we do.

What is Probus?  The word Probus is an abbreviation of the words PROfessional and BUSiness, however membership is not restricted to these two groups. It also embraces former executives of Government and other organisations, in fact anyone who held a position of responsibility during their professional life. Our members come from a wide range of backgrounds, ranging from farming to building, education, law and government, as well as many others. Probus clubs provide an opportunity for Professional and Business men over the age of 50 either retired, semi-retired or actively engaged in their normal professional business to attend regular meetings with like-minded people who appreciate similar interests.

We meet once a month on a Monday evening from September to April in Peel for a meal followed by a speaker on varying topics.  There is also a Christmas Dinner and Summer Outing to which partners are invited.   We are a member of the national group of Probus Clubs and a copy of the quarterly magazine is provided for our members.

To avoid anyone feeling 'lost' in an anonymous mass we only have 20 members at the moment - so we are small enough for a new member to settle in and become known  - and get to know others - quickly.  We would like to attract new members and, as a first step, would welcome those interested to attend one of our sessions to meet our members and learn about the Club's activities.
